Lucy Butters, a certified cultural intelligence trainer, speaker and coach based in the UK, visited Pakistan from 5th November to 12th November 2017. She delivered the first ever Cultural Intelligence Training in Pakistan at UBL on 7th November and at Pakistan Institute of Management (PIM) on 9th November. Lucy established Elembee Ltd in 2010 and specializes in developing cultural intelligence. She is certified by, and works in collaboration with the Cultural Intelligence Centre (USA).

Retail Safari 2017, Karachi
On September 28th 2017, the Retail Safari 2017 was held at Movenpick Hotel Karachi by LXY Global with the GE Group as strategic partner. The event was attended by leaders from a number of prominent retail businesses, who discussed global trends and glimpsed into the future of retail landscape of Pakistan. Retail has become a highly lucrative sector for the Pakistan industry with an exponential growth of 8{c96b8a123e7a14634a09d2c5e326c49e723c29db3fcc94036114152901b4a311}, and a market potential of USD 152 billion. Those present at the conference included representatives from Unilever, Dolmen Group, Mont Hill UAE, Reckitt Benckiser, AlKaram, Facebook and Mondelez, to name a few. An interactive session was also held by the CEO of the GE Group – Sheikh Hammad Amjad, who, along with diplomats from the U.S. Consulate, Swiss Consulate, and Australian Trade and Investment Commission, discussed how diplomacy can help foster businesses between countries.
Leisure Leagues
In July 2017, Pakistan became the first country outside the UK to host the prestigious Leisure Leagues. The GE Group is proud to have launched Leisure Leagues in Pakistan through the hosting of two international-scale football matches in Karachi and Lahore. Eight players – Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldinho, former Manchester United star Ryan Giggs, ex-Arsenal winger Robert Pires, FIFA World Cup winner Roberto Carlos, French forward Nicolas Anelka, English goalkeeper David James, Luis Boa Morte and George Boateng came to Pakistan to compete in two seven-a-side exhibition matches. An enormous crowd turned up for these matches, showing the underlying hunger for football and the huge following football has in Pakistan. Leisure Leagues aims to discover and nurture the abundant football talent in Pakistan and provide the players of tomorrow with a platform to help support their ambitions to represent Pakistan at the international level.
